About the Role

As a Strategic Contracts and Procurement Specialist at Ventia, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts and service level agreements with our diverse suppliers. This key leadership role offers a unique opportunity to make an impact and drive business growth.

You will ensure compliance with contractual obligations and mitigate risks associated with contracts. To succeed in this role, you will possess well-developed business acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract preparation and drafting for suppliers, ensuring these meet compliance with Ventia organisational standards.
  • Assist in negotiations with suppliers regarding terms and conditions aiming for favourable outcomes for the Ventia organisation.
  • Risk identification and management supporting strategies to minimise exposure.
  • Stakeholder management fostering relationships that enhance collaboration and proactively address contract-related issues.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to assess supplier performance and ensuring compliance monitoring.
  • Provide training to team members on contract management best practice enhancing overall effectiveness of the procurement team.
  • Market research support to ensure we are up-to-date on industry trends, pricing benchmarks.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Degree qualified within a relevant discipline, business, Law, commercial or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience within contract management or procurement within a complex environment managing supplier contracts and compliance.
  • Analytical individual with understanding of financial principles relating to contracts enabling effective cost management and analysis.
  • Exceptional relationship building and communication skills both written and verbal able to partner with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed knowledge of regulations, policies, and governing contracts and procurement activities.
  • Proficient in resolving disputes or conflicts that arise during contract lifecycles.
  • Exposure to change management and ability to align contract management strategies to organisation goals.
  • Leadership experience championing a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum + benefits.
