Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to partner with editorial leaders, driving financial discipline and supporting the creation of Australia's best journalism.


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic finance partner, providing clear and actionable financial insights.
  • Manage and control the entire Editorial cost base, focusing on staff and content-related expenses.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for all editorial cost centers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Provide insightful analysis on financial performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and growth.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in finance or commercial accounting, with a degree and/or a CA/CPA qualification.
  • Proven business partnering skills, including the ability to build trust and translate financial concepts for non-finance teams.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in core financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
  • Experience in media/publishing, managing staff costs, and using systems such as D365, TM1, SAP, or Tableau is ideal.
