Defence Engineering Manager

The Defence and Security team is seeking a Defence Engineering Manager to support maritime sustainment programs across Australia. The role involves developing and implementing maintenance schedules and plans for vessels, managing and coordinating a workforce of supervisors, planners, and subcontractors, overseeing the cost, schedule, and quality performance of maintenance packages, and coordinating with key customer staff, OEMs, and other external stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • - Developing and implementing maintenance schedules and plans for vessels
  • - Managing and coordinating a workforce of supervisors, planners, and subcontractors
  • - Overseeing the cost, schedule, and quality performance of maintenance packages
  • - Coordinating with key customer staff, OEMs, and other external stakeholders
  • - Managing emergent and defect rectification tasks during availabilities

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience and leadership in large-scale defence or maritime maintenance projects, a tertiary qualification in engineering, maintenance management, or an equivalent trade background, strong planning, scheduling, and contractor management skills, familiarity with vessel sustainment practices and shipyard operations, a strong understanding of WHS, security, and environmental standards, and the ability to hold and maintain an active Australian Baseline Defence Security Clearance or above.
