The University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join its School of Mathematics and Statistics. As a Research Fellow in Multiscale Mathematical Modelling of Cell Biology, you will contribute to the development of mathematical models to bridge simple and complex biological experiments.
About the Role:
You will work under the guidance of Senior Academics to develop agent-based and continuum mathematical models of cell behaviour. Your responsibilities will include leading the development of mathematical models, calibration of models to experimental data, and contributing to peer-reviewed journal publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and calibrate mathematical models of cell behaviour
- Contribute to peer-reviewed journal publications
- Assist in the preparation of research proposal submissions
- Undertake administrative functions related to research
- Contribute to the co-supervision of postgraduate students
Requirements:
- PhD in applied mathematics or related discipline
- Demonstrated capacity for outstanding research in mathematical biology
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Proven track record of original research publications
