Job Title: Director, Data and Analytics

Join the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Public Service as a Director, Data and Analytics, and play a critical role in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making.

About the Role

The Director, Data and Analytics will lead the planning, design, delivery, and governance of new data and analytics technologies and solutions, as well as improve existing solutions continuously for informing operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and uplift ACTCT's data and analytics operations and capabilities
  • Lead the planning, design, delivery, and governance of new data and analytics technologies and solutions
  • Improve existing solutions continuously for informing operational improvements
  • Develop and implement data governance and literacy strategies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in data analytics and science, information technology, business information systems, or a relevant field
  • Architect-level experience with SQL, Microsoft SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, Microsoft Power BI, IBM Cognos Analytics, or similar data and analytics technologies
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, strategic and system thinking, coordination and organisational skills, excellent writing and presentation skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to speak both business and technical languages and present across organisational levels
