Driver Trainer Role

We are seeking a skilled Driver Trainer to join our team in Spotswood VIC. As a Driver Trainer, you will provide specialized training, assessment, and coaching for Toll drivers in various aspects of their duties, including induction, legislative requirements, and Toll Group procedures.

The successful candidate will implement our business driver training strategy, focusing on risk management, quality improvement, HSE, and human resource management systems. They will also contribute to the ongoing training and development of drivers to enhance service quality, safety, and well-being, while meeting customer contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and deliver training programs to support our driver training initiatives, including group and one-on-one sessions.
  2. Assess driver competencies, prepare individual assessment reports, and follow up on necessary actions.
  3. Coach drivers to execute work processes safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legislation.
  4. Collaborate with Training Managers to plan and coordinate training requirements and activities.
  5. Contribute to the design and development of quality driver training materials, aligning with learning methodologies.
  6. Maintain accurate records of driver training and assessments, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Heavy Vehicle Driver's License (preferably with a Multi-Combination license).
  • DG License and SLP (if not already held, willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle mass management, fatigue management, dangerous goods, load restraint, and road transport rules and regulations.
  • Experience as a skilled and competent driver/MHE operator, with expertise in training and assessment.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills, with a focus on risk reduction and driver safety.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
