Pastry Craftsman

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating innovative pastry items and a strong attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing bread, cakes, biscuits, desserts and pastry items using best practice techniques and equipment as required
• Maintaining awareness of new trends, ingredients and techniques in pastry and using this knowledge to assist in the creation of new menu items
• Supervising, training and coaching other chefs in the pastry section
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
• Leading kitchen pastry operations in the absence of the Head Pastry Chef

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Certificate III in Pastry or equivalent
• Previous work experience in a similar position in a fast-paced, bulk production environment
• Proven knowledge and experience in all operational and functional aspects of kitchen administration and operations
• A local certificate in Food Handling, Hygiene, HACCP or equivalent
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• A base salary of $73,150 - $80,000 per annum
