Senior Design Specialist

Telstra is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Specialist to support the creation and execution of customer communications. This role focuses on both conceptual ideation and translating existing creative concepts into production-ready assets, ensuring brand consistency and technical accuracy across all customer touchpoints.

The successful candidate will be ideas-led and creatively driven, with a dedication to pushing boundaries of design thinking and elevate the quality of creative output. They will collaborate closely with Senior Creatives, Copywriters, and In-house Agency Leaders to implement design systems, building engaging customer content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Elevate creative standards across all touchpoints by building a culture of creativity, innovation, and operational efficiency.
  • Conceptual Ideation & Development: Contribute to conceptual ideation and creative development by actively participating in brainstorming sessions to generate original and innovative ideas, and shape compelling visual narratives that align with brand strategy and project goals.
  • Design Execution & Production: Translate design concepts into finalised artwork, ensuring readiness for deployment across various channels. Prepare and package design files for development and deployment, adhering to technical requirements and best practices. Retouch and manipulate images as needed to align with design specifications and enhance visual appeal.
  • Brand Consistency & Quality Assurance: Maintain and enforce brand guidelines, ensuring all communications reflect Telstra's visual identity and tone. Conduct thorough quality checks on all design assets, identifying and rectifying any inconsistencies or errors. Adapt existing designs to various formats and layouts, ensuring consistency across different platforms and devices.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design or artwork production, preferably within a social or digital environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with modular design systems and creating assets for customer channel communications.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), plus any other relevant design tools.
  • Strong understanding of colour theory, typography, and layout principles.
  • Ability to prepare files for both digital and print production, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to confidently present design concepts and pitch ideas to stakeholders, clearly communicating the creative rationale behind decisions while remaining open and responsive to feedback.
