Job Title: Casual Packaging Operator

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Casual Packaging Operator to join our team at Cascade Brewery in Hobart. As a key member of our Packaging team, you will be responsible for operating and optimizing high-speed packaging equipment to ensure the highest work standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain high-speed packaging equipment to meet production targets
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency within the packaging environment
  • Monitor packaging processes and take corrective action to prevent problems
  • Perform quality checks and record packaging material usage
  • Load and maintain packaging materials to machines as required
  • Take ownership of process areas, including 5S, HACCP, and safe working practices
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG
  • Prior experience and licensed to operate a forklift (highly regarded but training available for the right candidates)
  • Ability to identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Excellent workplace behaviors, including strong teamwork, integrity, and consistency
  • Ability to work safely and have the physical capacity to perform manual tasks
  • Participation in process improvement teams and work activities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Highly motivated and able to work unsupervised, as well as part of a team
  • Experience and knowledge of computerized control panels and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills
