About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Teacher Librarian to join our team at Presbyterian Ladies' College. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in promoting a love of learning and literacy among our students.
Key Responsibilities- Promote Literacy and Research Skills: Develop and implement engaging literacy and research programs across all curriculum areas, fostering a culture of inquiry and critical thinking.
- Teaching and Learning Support: Deliver high-quality literacy and research support lessons to students in Years 7-12, utilizing your expertise to enhance their learning experiences.
- Library Operations: Manage the senior library, ensuring a welcoming and productive environment that supports student learning and research.
- Research and Assessment Support: Provide expert guidance on research queries and assessments, utilizing your knowledge of online databases and referencing systems.
- Professional Development: Participate in regular professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with teachers to design and deliver connected teaching and learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs.
- Library Programs and Events: Coordinate and participate in library-related events and projects, promoting a love of reading and learning among students and staff.
- Qualifications and Experience: Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and NESA accreditation to teach in NSW, with a strong background in secondary education and library management.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of the current NSW secondary curriculum and experience with library management systems.
- Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Be willing to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible approach to supporting all three school campus libraries.
- Christian Ethos: Support the Christian ethos of the College, promoting a values-based approach to education and community engagement.
