The Launceston General Hospital in Tasmania, Australia, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical oncologist to join our team as a senior registrar. As a member of our multidisciplinary cancer care service, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility. You will also provide after-hours emergency support as determined by the relevant work unit.

- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with various types of cancers.

- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of new clinical pathways and guidelines.
- Provide educational programs and workshops to junior staff members to enhance their knowledge and skills in cancer management.
This is a 12-month fixed-term position, commencing from February 2, 2026. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a busy and dynamic cancer center, with exposure to a wide range of cancers and treatment modalities. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage ambulant medical oncology patients requiring treatment at the WP Holman Clinic outpatient facility.
- Advising, mentoring, and overseeing the work of junior medical staff assigned to the care of inpatient medical oncology patients.
- Participation in the on-call roster with consultant support.
Requirements:
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Proven experience in cancer management and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
