Support Worker Job Opportunity

The role of Support Worker involves providing assistance to individuals with psychosocial disability in their daily lives. This may include support with day-to-day living, ensuring participants have the opportunity for independence and developing skills.

As a Support Worker, you will facilitate opportunities for choice and control, participation in matters related to the home, and access to community services. You will also promote positive routines in a cooperative, respectful, and flexible manner, which are meaningful and purposeful to the participant.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Light domestic support and household tasks
  • Assistance or preparation of meals
  • Support with assistive technology
  • Support to attend appointments and grocery shopping
  • Assistance with personal care
  • Assistance with medication prompting
  • Support the community participation and social support

Required qualifications include a valid First Aid certification, CPR (annual), National Police Check (less than 12 months old), Ability to successfully obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, Current Australian Driver's License, Own reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance, Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

Preferred but not essential qualifications include Manual handling training, Administration of medication training, Industry experience, Experience working with challenging behaviours.
