Heavy Vehicle Driver Position

This is a full-time role for an experienced heavy vehicle driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating livestock trucks, managing loading and unloading procedures, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate livestock trucks, including positioning for stress-free loading and unloading of cattle, sheep, and other livestock.
  • FOLLOW animal welfare guidelines to minimise distress during transport.
  • Coordinate with farm staff to ensure livestock are loaded efficiently.
  • Loading and unloading procedures, including the use of hydraulic lifts, ramps, and livestock crates.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of livestock trucks, checking brakes, flooring, gates, ventilation, and fluid levels.
  • Report mechanical issues promptly to prevent breakdowns that could jeopardise livestock welfare.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant full-time experience in truck driving.
  • Relevant licensing and qualification.
  • Proven ability to operate heavy vehicles safely, perform load checks, and follow transport compliance standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a farming team.
