About us:

We're an employee-owned consultancy with a passion for delivering engineering and environmental consulting services. Our team of engineers, scientists, planners, technicians, project managers, and consultants work together to deliver solutions that make a difference.

We have seven offices throughout Australia and are committed to remaining big enough to deliver while being small enough to care.

The Opportunity:

As a Lead Drainage Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and leading stormwater drainage projects across various markets, including energy, resources, civic, water, and transport. You'll also mentor our drainage team and oversee the work of others.

  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analysis: You'll undertake and lead hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using tools like 12D, DRAINS, and other models such as RORB and TUFLOW.
  • Mentoring: You'll provide guidance and support to our drainage team, helping them develop their skills and expertise.
  • Diverse Design Tasks: As a Lead Drainage Engineer, you'll engage in designing and leading stormwater drainage, services coordination, and interdisciplinary coordination across various market sectors.
  • Exciting Projects: You'll work on projects spanning energy, resources, civic, water, and transport markets, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and professionals.
  • Design Management: You'll lead design activities and packages independently, while also overseeing and coordinating the work of others.
  • Client Interaction: This role offers opportunities to grow relationships with clients, both internal and external.
  • Collaborative Environment: You'll work within a collaborative team environment, sharing your expertise and knowledge with colleagues.
  • Business Development: You'll support business development activities, including identifying opportunities and writing proposals.

What We Need:

We're looking for someone with proven design experience, preferably with at least 15 years of experience as a civil/drainage engineer. VIC-based experience is preferred, particularly with MRPV projects and Melbourne Water approvals.

  • Proven Design Experience: Demonstrated experience in design management, preferably including multidisciplinary work.
  • VIC-Based Experience: Experience with design and construction projects in Victoria is preferred.
  • Energetic, Flexible, and Positive Attitude: Bring your enthusiasm and adaptability to our team.
  • Team Player: Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in drainage design across transport, energy, resources, or similar market areas, and general civil design work. Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis tools is essential.
  • Professional Qualifications: Currently hold or be eligible for CPEng and/or RPEQ/RPEV

Benefits:

  • Flexible Working Practices: We champion flexible working practices, allowing our team to balance work and personal life.
  • Paid Parental Leave: Enjoy paid parental leave with no waiting period and a Return to Work Bonus when you're ready to return.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Complimentary access to qualified psychologists and coaches to support your health and wellbeing.
  • Professional Development: We encourage ongoing learning and development, supporting our employees' career growth.
  • Additional Leave: Purchased additional leave allowance and cultural and ceremonial leave with access to floating public holidays.
  • Competitive Remuneration: A market-competitive remuneration package.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, mature workers, LGBTI+ people, and people from different cultural backgrounds.
