Our organization is seeking a Major Construction Supervisor to oversee and manage the daily operations of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a team to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
  • Exhibit leadership skills by taking initiative, assuming responsibility, and referring any issues related to ethics or probity.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and promoting change.
  • Undertake project planning including investigation, CCTV, basic plans, estimating, ordering materials, and organizing resources.
  • Provide guidance on major sewer repairs to the Construction Coordinator.
  • Promote staff involvement in team meetings.
  • Evaluate staffing levels to meet operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Water Industry (Civil Engineering or Water/Wastewater Engineering), relevant trade qualifications, or considerable experience in constructing water/wastewater systems.
  • Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Current NSW SafeWork First Aid Certificate.
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (SafeWork).
  • Current NSW SafeWork Confined Spaces Entry Certificate.
  • Asbestos Licence for removal of > 10 sq meters.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship or authority to work in Australia (visa).
  • Supervisory experience with the ability to lead and promote teamwork.
  • Recent relevant experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project or similar software.
  • Knowledge of preparing quotes and estimates for minor work and monitoring project expenditure.
  • Ability to read and understand service standards and project documentation.
  • Capacity to write routine correspondence and reports.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow defined WHS policies and procedures.
  • A commitment to undertaking relevant workplace training.
