This exciting new position has been created to support the growth of our perioperative services at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will play a key role in orientating, inducting, and briefing new staff, graduates, and students to our facility and their roles and responsibilities during rotations and clinical placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of patients, consumers, and staff through the maintenance of safe practice
- Assist graduates and staff to apply problem-solving and reflective skills in their clinical practice
- Identify the learning needs of staff within the specialty
- Supervise staff and ensure compliance with mandatory training
- Provide written clinical assessment reports for graduate nurses
- Conduct Continuing Professional Development sessions
Requirements:
- Current registration as a nurse with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification in a related field of specialty or working towards
- Minimum 3 years' experience in perioperative services
- Extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite
- Passion for quality, performance, and process improvement initiatives
- Coach, mentor, supervise, and provide preceptorship
- Hands-on teaching approach
- High level of planning and organizing skills
- Well-developed oral and written communication
- High degree of computer literacy
- Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded
