We are seeking passionate Relief Youth Workers (Classroom) on a Casual basis to support our School in the Brisbane South area.

About The Role

  • Key Responsibilities: As a Relief Youth Worker, you will actively support teachers and students in planning, delivering and enhancing academic learning, wellbeing and vocational programs.
  • You will play a vital role in the support, case management and mentorship of disengaged students, fostering intentional relationships to identify and address their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs.

Your Time

  1. You will coordinate the delivery of the school's pastoral care and community development program to meet student wellbeing needs and attendance targets.
  2. You will plan and lead wellbeing programs for students.
  3. You will support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students.
  4. You will form intentional relationships with young people to support their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs.
  5. You will help our young people know success.

A Good Match?

  • You hold a Certificate IV or above in Youth Work, Community Services or other relevant qualification.
  • You hold a Positive Notice Blue Card, or are willing to obtain one.
  • You have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people, including communicating appropriately with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • You can plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to a supportive environment.
  • You commit to working with young people using the Strengths Approach and demonstrate a non-judgmental, empathic framework.
