The Port Macquarie Hastings Council seeks a Procurement Business Partner to lead end-to-end procurement activities and deliver innovative, value-driven supply solutions.

Job Description:

This pivotal role requires strong government procurement experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for compliance, continuous improvement, and collaborative outcomes. You will develop and manage procurement plans and documentation tailored to stakeholder needs and service objectives.

Key responsibilities include leading tendering processes, requests for quotes, and panel access while ensuring compliance with Council policies and legislative requirements. You will provide expert advice, training, and support to internal teams on procurement procedures, risk management, and best practices.

Additionally, you will monitor and update procurement policies and systems to reflect industry standards and regulatory changes. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to design innovative supply solutions that deliver value for money and support service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, law, commerce, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a procurement role within a government environment.
  • Proven ability to manage tender and quotation processes from preparation through to administration.
  • Strong understanding of procurement legislation, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in contract administration and supplier performance monitoring, with sound risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, deliver training, and engage effectively with stakeholders.
