Electrical Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Specialist with expertise in creating detailed technical deliverables and maintaining high standards of quality.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting engineer's conceptual designs, preparing electrical and control system deliverables, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

  • Design Detail: Interpreting engineer's conceptual designs and transforming them into detailed technical deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's, and Panel Arrangements.
  • Drawing Preparation: Creating and updating electrical and control system deliverables to meet client requirements.
  • Site Inspections: Conducting site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
  • Support & Maintenance: Maintaining software infrastructure, assessing design tools, and driving continual improvement.
  • Training & Audits: Training new starters in design procedures and conducting regular audits.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely project completion within budget.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensuring consistency and compliance with industry standards and Australian Standards.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical design drafting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Familiarity with design tools such as AVEVA Instrumentation and/or Eplan is desirable.
  • Exposure to 3D modeling software is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers and design team members.
  • Solid computer literacy and sound mathematical skills.
