About the Role

The Elective Surgery Coordinator is accountable for the management of patients on the Elective Surgery Waiting List from a clerical perspective within the guidelines of the Department of Health Elective Surgery Access Policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms, and other areas of St Vincent's within stipulated time frames as per DHHS Elective Surgery Access Policy.
  • Accurately create, record, and update the Waiting List Screen on Patient Administration System (PAS) as required.
  • Contact patients and schedule admission for procedures.
  • Schedule any appointments, including pre-admission clinic, anaesthetic clinic, perioperative medicine unit (PMU) clinic, and any associated investigations as requested by the SLN or unit.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in administration in a healthcare role.
  • Experience with patient administration systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, MS Team, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain.
