Pet Grooming Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pet Grooming Specialist to join our team at Petstock Country Devonport. As a key member of our grooming salon, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services to our furry friends and their owners.

• Provide a range of grooming services, including bathing, drying, nail clipping, brushing, and clipping, to ensure our canine clients look and feel their best.
• Deliver a positive and memorable experience for all customers and their dogs, building strong relationships and fostering a loyal customer base.
• Coordinate the grooming salon and clients in conjunction with the Store Manager, ensuring seamless operations and excellent customer service.
• Make client bookings and manage the grooming schedule to meet the needs of our customers.
• Assist the store shop floor team when required, providing support and contributing to the overall success of the store.
• Contribute to stock management, ensuring that our grooming supplies are well-stocked and easily accessible.
• Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and team to achieve and exceed sales targets, driving business growth and success.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset, prioritizing the well-being of our customers, staff, and animals, and promoting a culture of safety within the salon and store.

• Experience in professional dog grooming, with a strong understanding of breed-specific clips and grooming techniques.
• Qualification in Grooming, preferred but not essential, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Ability to create and embed strong safety practices across the salon and store, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
• Good knowledge of specific breed clips and the ability to maintain advanced understanding of zoonotic and skin diseases and how to identify them.
• Physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy animals and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience in handling and working with live animals, with a strong understanding of animal behavior and body language.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work conditions, prioritizing tasks and managing conflicting priorities with ease.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets, with a strong understanding of sales strategies and customer engagement.
• Commitment to representing the interests of Petstock in areas related to the business, branding, and animal care, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working and customer relationships.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff, and management.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and exceeding customer expectations.
