About This Role

This Senior Spiritual Care Coordinator position is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team at Baptistcare. As a key member of our spiritual care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality pastoral and spiritual care to residents, their families, and staff.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Provide integrated leadership working with operational line managers, attending clinical care meetings, family conferences, and assessing spiritual needs to ensure consistency of service delivery;
  • Recruit, train, coordinate, and mentor a team of pastoral care volunteers;
  • Work closely with the Director of Spiritual Care to develop and implement spiritual care programs and policies;
  • Ensure safe and sound work practices that comply with Work, Health, and Safety policies and procedures and relevant legislation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in chaplaincy/pastoral care or tertiary theological qualifications;
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in providing pastoral and spiritual care;
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of Christian spiritual maturity with a pastoral heart;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, residents, and stakeholders;
  • Flexibility and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • An estimated annual salary of AU$70,000 - AU$90,000 depending on experience;
