About the Role

Welfare Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Dementia Consultant to join our team in Bendigo. As a Dementia Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in making a meaningful difference in the lives of persons living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide face-to-face assessments for persons living with dementia, ensuring their care services and needs are met.
  • Take a person-centred care approach, understanding the dementia journey and context of the change in behaviour.
  • Advocate on behalf of the person living with dementia, ensuring an improved quality of living and responsive care.
  • Develop and implement behavioural management strategies and practical interventions.
  • Collaborate with family members, carers, and other healthcare professionals to provide education and support.
Requirements
  • Strong aged care experience working with persons living with dementia in residential care, community, or acute/sub-acute settings.
  • Experience in senior nurse, clinical care manager, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, diversional therapist, or other dementia specialised roles.
  • Knowledge of different types of dementia, experience in managing BPSD, and ability to identify triggers and unmet needs.
  • Further qualifications in Dementia Care, Gerontology, or Health & Ageing are highly regarded.
