About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Avocado Farm Manager to lead our avocado farming operations in the Riverland Region of South Australia. As a senior horticultural leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the farming activities on our avocado plantings, including conventional and substrate (hydroponic) production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the farming activities on our avocado plantings, ensuring the highest possible yield and quality of fruit.
  • Oversee farm operations and implement continuous improvement of agronomic practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize farm productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Five plus years of experience in managing avocado farms or other permanent tree crops.
  • Experience in agronomy and substrate/hydroponic horticulture is preferred.
  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture or related discipline.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
