We are seeking a skilled Section Engineer to join our team at Carmichael UK, working on the Devonport Docks Project in Plymouth, Devon.
As a Section Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a growing team, offering long-term job security and opportunities for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of personal safety and environmental responsibility.
- Supervise site engineers to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensure that technical documentation, including drawings and specifications, is accurate and comprehensive.
- Provide precise and clear setting out for construction works.
- Communicate effectively with foremen and gangers to ensure a thorough understanding of project information.
- Arrange formal checks of setting out to ensure accuracy.
- Complete inspection and test plans to ensure project quality.
- Maintain accurate daily site records.
- Prepare and manage 4-weekly project schedules.
- Provide accurate measurements for materials required for project completion.
- Maintain material reconciliation figures for project reporting.
- Ensure that material delivery tickets are properly coded for cost tracking.
- Conduct testing and sampling of materials to ensure quality.
- Provide support to the measurement department as needed.
- Maintain survey records.
- Receive and inspect materials upon delivery.
Requirements:
- Hold a qualification equivalent to ONC level or higher, preferably a degree.
- Proven experience as an engineer, preferably in a heavy civils environment.
- Thorough knowledge of construction procedures and working methods.
- Comprehensive understanding of government legislation related to safety and environmental regulations.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
