We are seeking a skilled Section Engineer to join our team at Carmichael UK, working on the Devonport Docks Project in Plymouth, Devon.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain high standards of personal safety and environmental responsibility.
  2. Supervise site engineers to ensure efficient project execution.
  3. Ensure that technical documentation, including drawings and specifications, is accurate and comprehensive.
  4. Provide precise and clear setting out for construction works.
  5. Communicate effectively with foremen and gangers to ensure a thorough understanding of project information.
  6. Arrange formal checks of setting out to ensure accuracy.
  7. Complete inspection and test plans to ensure project quality.
  8. Maintain accurate daily site records.
  9. Prepare and manage 4-weekly project schedules.
  10. Provide accurate measurements for materials required for project completion.
  11. Maintain material reconciliation figures for project reporting.
  12. Ensure that material delivery tickets are properly coded for cost tracking.
  13. Conduct testing and sampling of materials to ensure quality.
  14. Provide support to the measurement department as needed.
  15. Maintain survey records.
  16. Receive and inspect materials upon delivery.

Requirements:

  1. Hold a qualification equivalent to ONC level or higher, preferably a degree.
  2. Proven experience as an engineer, preferably in a heavy civils environment.
  3. Thorough knowledge of construction procedures and working methods.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of government legislation related to safety and environmental regulations.
  5. Must have the right to work in the UK.
