Job Role

The Staff Specialist role in Anaesthesia offers a unique opportunity to deliver high standards of clinical care within a world-class health service prioritizing excellence.

This position reports directly to the Director of Anaesthesia and is responsible for managing clinical risk, providing anaesthesia services, and ensuring patient safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing anaesthesia in main operating theatres, including cardiac theatres
  • Conducting pre-admission clinics
  • Managing acute pain services
  • Participating in endoscopy suites and cardiac catheter laboratories
  • Contributing to radiology departments and day surgery procedure units
  • Participating in on-call services
  • Documenting care using electronic medical records
