Lead a Water Engineering Team

We are seeking a dynamic leader to drive excellence in water and wastewater asset planning, management, and design for a local council.
Job Description:
In this role, you will lead and grow a team of water engineers, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and technical excellence. You will manage project delivery, resource allocation, and business outcomes for water projects of varying scale and complexity. You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contributing to the implementation of client strategies and CRM plans. You will prepare and review technical reports, design deliverables, and planning studies. You will take a hands-on role in winning new work, writing proposals, and leading pursuits. You will recruit new team members and develop internal networks. You will champion safety, environmental processes, and risk management across all projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
You will need a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (required); further technical, management, and diversity training (desirable). You will have 10+ years' experience in water engineering, including formal leadership roles. You will have a proven track record in managing project scope, budgets, and teams. You will have experience in business development, proposal management (projects $500,000+), and strategic planning. You will have strong client-facing skills and the ability to resolve project-related issues. You will have demonstrated knowledge of risk management, ethics, and safety. You will have the ability to balance innovation, quality, and technical excellence with timely delivery. You will have emotional intelligence, authenticity, and a future-focused mindset.
