About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer to join our team at Anglicare Southern Queensland on a permanent part-time basis.

This role involves carrying out domestic and general maintenance functions, engaging and managing contractors, and overseeing grounds maintenance and enhancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure the upkeep of our residential aged care facility
  • Engaging and managing contractors for authorized works and ensuring quality standards are met
  • Oversight of grounds maintenance and enhancement, including gardening and landscaping
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A background in general maintenance and gardening, with a formal trade qualification or equivalent
  • Familiarity with fire safety principles and practices, including Fire Safety Assessment (FSA) accreditation
  • Demonstrated experience in performing domestic and general maintenance tasks, including basic painting, plumbing, carpentry, and minor repairs
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external contractors
  • Good time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to follow through on tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles, particularly in relation to tools, equipment, chemicals, and electricity
