Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will offer therapeutic support to students with mild-to-moderate mental health concerns.

  • Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver individual and group interventions to students which address mental health concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom.
  • Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service.
  • C coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students.
  • Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students.
  • Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Psychology or Social Work.
  • Experience working with students with mild-to-moderate mental health concerns.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
