About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lawyer to join our Legal Policy, Advocacy, and Professional Standards team, focusing on the Property and Environmental Law Section (PELS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft policy proposals and prepare written submissions on pivotal issues affecting the legal landscape.
  • Manage PELS committees and working groups, including Property Law, Environmental Issues, and other specialised areas.
  • Collaborate on impactful law reform campaigns, advocating for significant issues within the profession.
  • Monitor emerging legal trends to initiate progressive policy solutions.
  • Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders for collaborative policy development.
  • Ensure accurate, high-quality contributions to the monthly property law column in the Law Institute Journal.
Requirements
  • Australian legal practitioner with at least two years of experience.
  • Proven experience in property law, regulatory issues, and policy development.
  • High-level research skills, with the ability to interpret complex legislation.
  • Exceptional project management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative, with demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and conflict management.
