About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic to join our dynamic team at Laing O'Rourke Group. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to work on a diverse range of civil construction machinery, including excavators, loaders, cranes, telehandlers, power generators, and civil ancillary equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform skilled diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of plant and equipment.
- Attend onsite maintenance and breakdowns as required, working efficiently to resolve issues.
- Complete accurate service and breakdown reports.
- Identify and requisition parts required to carry out repairs.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies.
- Carry out high-quality work, up to and above OEM and industry requirements.
- Adhere to all internal and external clients' site entry requirements and rules.
To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the minimum requirements below:
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent)
- Australian Driver's Licence - Manual C Class
- Australian Construction Induction Card (Blue/White Card)
- Unrestricted Australian Working Rights
- Minimum 4+ years' experience as a Heavy/Civil Plant Mechanic (essential)
- Well-rounded diagnostics skills across hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Results-driven, positive attitude, and the willingness to learn and develop new skills.
