Job Search Support Specialist in Australia

We are seeking a highly skilled Job Search Support Specialist to provide guidance and support to employees and their spouses/partners as they relocate to a new area in Australia.

The ideal candidate will have experience coaching others in job search, with a strong understanding of cultural differences and expectations. They will work closely with employees and accompanying spouse/partners to establish a plan for job search, provide training on cultural adaptation, and support them through the relocation process.

  • A career coach will help employees and their families navigate the challenges of relocation, including finding employment, housing, and integrating into the local community.

About this role:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish rapport with employees and accompanying spouse/partners. Motivate them to achieve goals and provide training on cultural differences and expectations.
  2. Guide accompanying spouse/partner through the coaching process and milestone completion.
  3. Advises and coaches on career development, transition issues, and career options.
  4. Maintains electronic service delivery record for each employee serviced, according to the internal guide.
  5. Monitors progress of employees, consults with them on integrating into the new area, cross-cultural training, specific subjects to improve their job search skills and knowledge, and deals with personal issues that are affecting their careers.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years experience coaching others in job search. Experience with resume development, interview preparation, career exploration, LinkedIn profiles, networking, negotiation, and other aspects of job search coaching.
  • Expat or repat who understands the ups and downs of relocation.
  • Very strong verbal/written communication skills (bilingual English/French preferred but not required).
  • Able to analyze and appropriately address transitional/integration (relocation) needs, as well as potential cross-cultural challenges.
  • Ability to engage and foster positive relationships with program participants/clients.
  • Understanding of business and cultural practices within Australia.
  • Currently lives and/or works in Australia.
  • High-speed internet connection on a personal computer; headset with a microphone will be required (remote/work from home).
  • Experience working with international job seekers, including career continuation scenarios, a plus.
