Property Management Specialist

The Property and Leasing Officer will play a crucial role in the day-to-day management of our leasing and licensing portfolios. This includes negotiating and preparing commercial and community licences and leases, as well as managing road discontinuance and sales in line with Local Government requirements.
This position requires a high level of technical expertise, particularly in property management and asset management systems. The successful candidate will be comfortable reading and interpreting lease agreements, Certificates of Title and liaising with solicitors and consultants.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Handling the day-to-day management of our Lease and license portfolio, including rental invoicing, collections, and renewals to ensure an efficient and transparent process.
- Leading our annual lease inspection program, including follow up of non-compliance issues.
- Overseeing and managing our Leasing Register.
- Supporting the development and reviewing of key property policies in line with statutory requirements.
Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in a variety of property management functions.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the discontinuance and sale of roads [right of ways] and reserves, in line with Local Government statutory requirements.
- Ability to carry out complex title searches and research, interpret title information and provide associated technical information.
- Sound interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate with tenants, landlords and key stakeholders (both internal and external) to foster positive partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, efficiently and without direct supervision in a range of administrative and project tasks.
- Victorian Drivers Licence.
