Youth Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary service, you will be responsible for providing clinical care to young people referred for tertiary mental health support.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in youth mental health, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in tertiary mental health settings. You will be a registered practitioner (RPN Grade 4, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist Grade 3) with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Your expertise will include:

  • Triage, assessment, crisis intervention, and clinical treatment of young people with complex mental ill health.
  • Providing senior clinician leadership and supervision to our team members; mentoring staff and participating in daily clinical operations.
  • Collaborating with our managers, team leaders, and consultant psychiatrists to deliver evidence-based, youth-focused care.
  • Contributing to safe, person-centred care, including safety planning and suicide prevention.
  • Engaging with young people, families, and significant others within an early intervention framework.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A demonstrated ability to function autonomously and collaboratively with clinical and organisational leaders.
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and leadership skills, motivated by youth-focused, inclusive, and recovery-oriented care.
  • Relevant registration and qualifications, including RPN Grade 4, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist Grade 3.
