Job Title: Healthcare Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Healthcare Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare division, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards and legislation.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards and legislation.
  • Form part of a multidisciplinary team working towards the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
  • Provide medical technical advice to senior officers and commanders.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

Requirements:

  • Be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
  • Not be required to enlist in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base.
