Job Description

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our team as a Senior Financial Accountant. This is a hands-on, regionally focused role for a technically strong accountant with experience across both tax and financial reporting in ANZ.

As a key member of the regional APAC team and CFO, you will play a pivotal role in managing tax compliance, financial reporting, and statutory requirements across multiple jurisdictions including Australia and New Zealand.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and lodging income tax, GST, and FBT. Additionally, they will assist with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting packs.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of the tax governance framework and support audit readiness. They will also play a role in finance transformation projects aimed at automation and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and Lodging Tax Returns: Ensure timely preparation and lodgement of income tax, GST, and FBT returns.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Tax Governance Framework: Contribute to the development of a robust tax governance framework to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Finance Transformation: Participate in finance transformation projects to drive automation and process improvement.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced finance professional who meets the following requirements:

  • Qualifications: CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years' experience in a reputable accounting firm or multinational corporate environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in Australian accounting and tax standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to explain finance matters to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong Excel capability and ideally experience with SAP, Navision, or similar large ERPs.
