About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Enrolled Nurse to join our team at Southern Cross Care, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to our residents. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be responsible for supervising and guiding personal care workers, promoting independence, and helping residents regain their confidence and engage in meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Person-Centred Care: Provide nursing care that is safe, effective, and responsive to the needs of our residents.
  • Supervise and Guide: Supervise and guide personal care workers to ensure they are providing high-quality care and support.
  • Medication Management: Ensure medications are administered in a timely and safe manner, in accordance with scope of practice, and advise the Registered Nurse of any concerns or adverse reactions.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Work positively and collaboratively with other staff and qualified practitioners to provide proactive person-centred service and support.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping: Maintain current knowledge of contemporary best practice clinical care within the scope of enrolled nursing practice, and report any risks that have the potential to cause an accident or injury.
About You

We are looking for an Enrolled Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and making a positive impact on the lives of our residents. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma of Nursing: Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification: Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) and Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
  • Experience in Aged Care: At least 1-2 years of experience working as an Enrolled Nurse in an Aged Care Environment.
  • Communication and Time Management Skills: Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, and exceptional time management skills to manage your own workload and support other staff.
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Standards: High level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, including those who display challenging behaviours, and sound knowledge of the Aged Care Standards particularly as they relate to accreditation.
