Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Category Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with expertise in procurement and contract management to drive business growth and success.

The successful candidate will partner with executives, operational leaders, and project teams to align category strategies with business needs and corporate objectives.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and commercial acumen. The ideal candidate will have experience in end-to-end procurement processes, category management, and supplier relationship management.

We are looking for someone who can provide commercial and procurement support for capital projects, IT initiatives, and financial compliance activities.

In this role, you will contribute to Group-wide procurement capability by sharing expertise, supporting regional teams, and embedding structured procurement and contract management practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Legal, Data Analytics, Engineering or relevant fields.
  • Multiple years' experience in strategic procurement, leading in end-to-end procurement process or category management.
  • Experience in different industries or organisations, especially in heavy industry, resource or mining.
  • A team player, reliable and collaborative.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and forward-thinking.
  • A problem solver with commercial acumen.
  • Experience in data analysis to drive insights as inputs into category strategies and financial analysis to support budget or project control.
  • Experience in working in different linguistic/cultural environments (English & Spanish speaking preferred).
  • Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or other similar professional certifications.
