Job SummaryThe College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a clinical-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the Division of Restorative and Prosthodontics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the pre-doctoral fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics curricula.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement didactic and clinical instruction in prosthodontics
- Conduct research and scholarly activity in the field of prosthodontics
- Support the overall mission of the division and participate in university and college governance
- Contribute to the college's continuing education programs and practice in the college's affiliated intramural Dental Faculty Practice
- Participate in teaching activities consistent with division goals and demonstrate effective teaching skills through student and peer reviews
- May serve as course director, including preparation and distribution of course materials, management of lecture/laboratory schedules, and conducting and grading of all examinations
- Support a model for dental education that includes the incorporation of innovative technologies, interdisciplinary education and patient care, and evidence-based dentistry
- Provide interdisciplinary mentoring to students and demonstrate collaboration between college divisions
- Participate in college and/or university committees and membership in professional organizations
- DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree
- Eligibility for a regular or limited teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board
- Desirable: teaching experience, experience in the application of advanced digital technology in dental education, and an MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degree
