Gameplay Developer Opportunity
Become part of a team working on large-scale creative projects in the entertainment industry within an inclusive, motivated environment where you can learn and collaborate with talented people.
We are looking for developers who combine technical excellence with a passion for making games. You will work as part of a small but experienced team, taking responsibility for classic game technology areas, and stepping outside your comfort zone to work in other areas as necessary.
Candidates must have demonstrated technical abilities in the video games industry or a related field. They must have extensive knowledge and experience in software development, comfortable working in large codebases with complicated build processes.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Sydney office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and modify core gameplay systems and control interfaces using C++ and game script.
- Work closely with animators, designers and artists, and coordinate with other studios.
- Follow an iterative process to tune and polish features.
- Create tools to facilitate game feature implementation, improve iteration times and increase team productivity.
- Produce stable, reliable and well-documented code, debug, analyse and optimise code created by colleagues.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in low-level software development, including 2 years in the video games industry or a related field.
- Ability to write well-structured, highly optimised C++ code.
- Strong understanding of top-down design, object-oriented programming, design patterns and game design principles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organised, able to deliver on deadlines.
- Passionate about gameplay, system design and methodologies that support a team passionate about creating games.
