Job Summary:

The Cybersecurity Project Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering identified Cybersecurity owned projects within the strategic Cybersecurity program. This includes procurement and development of a new Security Operations Centre (SOC), endpoint protection, threat intelligence, threat and vulnerability management, attack surface management, and security testing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:
    • Define, document, and execute Cybersecurity projects or sub-projects within the strategic program.
    • Apply appropriate project management methods and tools to plan, schedule, monitor, and report on project activities.
    • Identify, assess, and manage project risks effectively.
    • Develop and maintain realistic project plans, including scope, schedule, quality, risk, and communication plans.
    • Track activities against the project schedule and manage stakeholder involvement.
    • Monitor costs, times, quality, and resources used, and take action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
  2. Requirements Definition and Management: Elicit, analyze, document, and manage requirements for assigned projects. This includes understanding and applying different requirements elicitation techniques, as well as managing the requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with project sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders. Proactively communicate project progress, risks, and issues to ensure understanding and buy-in.
  4. Change Control: Assess risks associated with proposed changes and ensure that changes to products, services, or systems are controlled and coordinated. Implement change control procedures and ensure that all changes are properly documented and approved.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with a demonstrated focus on Cybersecurity projects. Experience in developing and implementing Cybersecurity solutions is highly desirable.
  • Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of Cybersecurity principles and practices. Familiarity with Cybersecurity governance frameworks such as ISO27001/2, NIST, and ASD Essential 8, risk management methodologies, and compliance standards such as PCIDSS is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate risks, identify issues, and develop solutions. Ability to gather and analyze data, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders. Strong relationship-building skills and a track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management Skills: Knowledge of project management methodologies (including both Waterfall and Agile) and tools such as JIRA, and experience in applying them to Cybersecurity projects. Ability to develop and maintain project plans, budgets, resources, and track progress effectively.
  • Requirements Management Skills: Knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management techniques. Experience in using a variety of requirements management tools and methodologies.
  • Change Management Skills: Ability to assess risks associated with proposed changes and ensure that changes are controlled and coordinated. Experience in implementing change control procedures.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of Cybersecurity.
  • Certifications: Relevant project management and Cybersecurity certifications are desirable (e.g., Security+, Project+, PMBOK, Prince2 or equivalent).
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Information Technology, Cybersecurity) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
