Senior/ Principal Ecologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Principal Ecologist to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Ecology practice, you will play a lead role in supporting our clients with environmental management challenges across the NSW region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice to clients on infrastructure and natural resource management projects
- Lead and coordinate environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems
- Deliver environmental analysis, research, and field surveys
- Develop and deliver technical reports for clients and participate in proposal and tender production
- Establish and drive a culture of efficient and effective delivery of projects within Ecology
- Manage project delivery throughout the project life cycle, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes
- Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of initiatives within the business unit
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Promote a culture of high performance, delivery, and continuous improvement, and mentor and coach junior team members
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science and/or Ecology
- Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate Ecology experience, preferably in a consulting, construction, or regulatory environment
- Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accreditation (or working towards)
- Demonstrated identification skills in New South Wales flora, fauna, and ecological communities
- Thorough knowledge of relevant NSW/ACT standards and legislation
- Driver's license essential, 4WD experience preferable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
