About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our Surveillance and Communications business unit based in Adelaide's defence precinct.

The successful candidate will be integrating into a small hardware team, developing and maintaining hardware supporting mission critical defence radar systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new VHDL firmware
  • Maintain current product line, and engineering support for hardware and firmware
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines including software, systems, ILS and quality
  • Undertake product level testing and hardware integration activities
  • Produce detailed design and test documentation and procedures to meet contractual project requirements

Salary: AU$100,000 - AU$120,000 per annum, depending on experience. Flexible work arrangements such as working a 9-day fortnight are also offered.

About You
  • A university degree level qualification in an appropriate discipline
  • Knowledge and understanding of the engineering development lifecycle
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
  • Experience in Intel FPGA VHDL firmware development cycles
  • 3 plus years of experience with Modelsim/ Questasim Advanced Simulator and TCL scripting
  • Hardware level debugging including tools such as SignalTap
  • Familiarisation with TCP/IP and network protocols
