Infinite Consulting is in search of several skilled Windows Server/Virtualisation Specialists for a prominent Federal Government Client. This role offers a long-term contract with an initial term and options for extension, contingent upon funding and approval.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Windows Server/Virtualisation Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include the construction, configuration, and maintenance of a virtualized server environment across various domains. The client is actively modernizing its IT infrastructure, and you will play a key role in implementing security enhancements and transitioning multiple business systems from outdated platforms.
Key Duties Include:
- Delivering technical guidance to projects and business units, while leading the technical deliverables;
- Overseeing, monitoring, and upgrading the Virtual Service Environment (VSE) in line with vendor recommendations to ensure optimal performance;
- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining both new and existing virtual service solutions in collaboration with stakeholders;
- Configuring and deploying virtual services and servers in accordance with operational models established by application owners.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Windows Server/Virtualisation Specialist.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in both Agile and waterfall project methodologies.
- Expertise in Wintel and VMware Infrastructure operations, including:
- Windows Server Operating Systems
- Active Directory
- Microsoft SCCM
- Microsoft Hyper-V & VMM
- Microsoft SCOM
- Microsoft File and Print
- VMware ESX & vSphere
- VMware vRA
- VMware vSAN
- VMware NSX
- VMware virtualization on HCI.
- Proficiency in Wintel and VMware Infrastructure operations in the following areas:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Office 365
- Amazon Web Services
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Nexus or similar
- Automation tools like Ansible / Puppet.
