The Job Description

This role is a newly created position seeking a motivated, passionate, and detail-oriented individual willing to contribute to our team.

The successful candidate will provide expert advice and support nationally across all Austal Australia to various stakeholders in relation to workforce competency, compliance, and training strategies and practices.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in a lead capacity with business-as-usual (BAU) and/or project-related work in the competency and compliance training areas.
  • Coordinate training to ensure timely completion and alignment of safety and compliance requirements and other training in accordance with business, safety, and quality needs.
  • Lead and manage systems, processes, policies, evaluation, governance, reporting, and maintain records and documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and visibility for business in relation to compliance and competencies learning and training.
  • Oversee, monitor, and maintain training-related receipting, reconciliations, and invoicing or oversee indirect reports in this accountability.
  • Provide prompt and timely advice, expertise, and customer service to stakeholders aligned to role purpose and other accountabilities.
Key Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in learning, development, competency in a complex multi-site environment.
  • Extensive experience in business reporting, governance, risk management, gap analysis, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and/or Safety & Compliance Documentation Systems.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and manage online systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and manage autonomous individuals across multifunctional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in improving and streamlining processes, practices, and procedures to improve efficiencies and maximise safety, quality, and capability outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially operational stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with strong planning and organisational skills.
What We're Looking For
  • Tertiary qualification in Training & Assessment, Health & Safety, HR, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with learning management systems and training design and delivery.
  • Previous experience working with external Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and providers in an external outsourced training model.
