About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor to join our team at Centurion, one of Australia's largest independently owned and operated logistics companies. As a Yard Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining a productive, clean, and safe work environment at our Mackay depot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise operational activities to ensure prompt processing and loading of freight, guaranteeing on-time delivery in full.
  • Lead and guide a team of 20 employees, managing team training, performance management, and rosters.
  • Provide daily/weekly reports to Operations management.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, reporting and investigating safety incidents or concerns to the Manager.
  • Comply with all relevant OH&S requirements and adhere to quality systems and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to load and unload freight in a yard environment.
  • Accredited Worksafe High Risk License to operate a Forklift.
  • General and/or refrigerated freight experience.
  • Good organisation and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Load Restraint knowledge and understanding.
  • Dangerous goods understanding and experience for freight requiring transportation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and change with company direction.
  • Exceptional leadership, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to comply with company procedures and policies.
  • Practical understanding of Continuous Improvement and Process Management.
