Job Title: Staff Platform Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Platform Engineer to join our team at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, running, and evolving tools, infrastructure, templates, and capabilities that our other engineers use to deliver business value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and run 'platforms' that customer-facing product engineers can use to deliver customer value at greater quality, velocity, and safety.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to define and implement technical requirements.
  • Provide strategic technical leadership and mentorship driving best practices for ML platform architecture, deployment, and scaling.
  • Oversee the design and development of scalable and resilient ML infrastructure with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture blueprints and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Experience with the Full Cycle model, where engineers are involved in Design, Build, Change, and Run.
  • Passion for designing, developing, deploying, and running high-quality modern workplace platforms.
  • Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Expertise in tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Ruby.
