We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse to join our team at Eastern Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality nursing interventions and support to consumers experiencing mental ill health.
Key Responsibilities- Provide treatment of the highest quality, equitably meeting the needs of consumers, families, and/or carers.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses, to provide comprehensive care.
- Deliver recovery-oriented interventions within a recovery framework, promoting consumer autonomy and empowerment.
- Work alongside the Lived Experience Workforce to deliver consumer-focused recovery.
- Provide high-quality assessment, secondary case management services, and assertive outreach support to individuals experiencing mental illness.
- Work within the SECU Diversion Program, providing intensive support to consumers who benefit from increased care.
- Possess knowledge of and the ability to provide effective interventions for consumers with co-occurring mental health and substance use problems (dual diagnosis).
- Promote the principles and practice of service coordination, ensuring consumers receive a timely, coordinated response to their health and social needs.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A current annual Registration as a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse with medication endorsement issued by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA).
- Demonstrated further professional development in the area of mental health.
- High standards of performance for self and others.
- Recent experience working with consumers who have a mental illness.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people with dual diagnosis.
- Commitment to and ability to practice utilising the recovery approach in mental health treatment and support.
- Experience in working in partnership with NDIS services, promoting a spirit of cooperation and collaboration.
- Ability to liaise and consult with a broad range of health professionals, community agencies, and organisations.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to effectively problem-solve and negotiate.
- Ability to contribute to a positive team environment.
- Ability to gain an understanding of contemporary Recovery principles.
