SMSF Portfolio Manager Opportunity

KPMGau is seeking a highly skilled SMSF Portfolio Manager to join our SMSF Specialist Team in Parramatta.

As a SMSF Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for the workflow management of a specific SMSF portfolio, including managing and reviewing the compliance work file, reporting deliverables, and audit outcomes on each fund within your portfolio. You will also be responsible for proactively liaising with clients, external auditors, ATO, and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional outcomes and quality of work.

The ideal candidate will have prior SMSF experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm, be CA or CPA qualified, and possess strong collaborative skills, a dedicated work ethic, and excellent communication skills. A passion for ongoing learning and a desire to develop into a mentor to assist other less experienced team members are also highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and review the compliance work file, reporting deliverables, and audit outcomes on each fund within your portfolio.
  • Proactively liaise with clients, external auditors, ATO, and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional outcomes and quality of work.
  • Provide technical advice to clients in relation to the application of the superannuation and taxation rules.
  • Develop into a mentor to assist other less experienced team members and encourage their continued professional development.
  • Manage billing and internal risk procedures.


Requirements:
  • Prior SMSF experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Strong collaborative skills, a dedicated work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
  • A passion for ongoing learning.
