The NSW Department of Education is undergoing a transformative process, aiming to strengthen its technical capabilities and deliver value to students, teachers, and schools across New South Wales.

This role offers an exciting opportunity within the Application Services area where you will design and develop applications to support day-to-day school operations, reduce administrative burdens, and enhance work and learning experiences.

Your focus will be on two main areas: full-stack development, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and AWS stacks. You will

  • design front-end web components and back-end APIs;
  • build components, templates, dialogs, and workflows using AEM architecture;
  • create scalable Java-based or NodeJS-based RESTful APIs using AWS stacks;
  • integrate front-end components into AEM components or templates for seamless user experiences;
  • provide timely specialist advice and support to line managers, executives, and system users;
  • prepare and deliver operational reports to inform project status and service improvement initiatives;
  • offer 2nd-level technical support for applications, systems, and programs.

Key skills required include experience in building single-page applications and microservices/APIs; demonstrated expertise with AEM platforms; knowledge of Java-based or NodeJS-based RESTful APIs using AWS stacks; and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

In addition to your technical skills, you must have a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
